Education, which translates into hope and opportunity, is the single most important factor that can transform a community. My formal education includes a Ph.D. in community college leadership and my ambition is building community where people work together to create the future.  I will combine my training and passion to oversee ACC's educational mission.

After finishing my term as Chair of the Capitol Area Workforce Development Board in 1999, I took the leadership of and build a national organization whose main mission was to build community. Today I want to focus my energies on Austin and Central Texas.  My passion for connecting people, resources, and ideas, to build community and solve problems will be put to good use in working with  ACC leadership to meet the challenges facing us today and prepare for the future.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

As ACC Trustee, I will work to:

*Increase access to existing educational opportunities for all Central Texas communities.

*Adapt the Guidance & Counseling Systems to reflect the diverse needs of every student to        help each one succeed.

*Identify and remove existing barriers to raise and impact student completion rates.

*Strengthen partnerships with our business community to train and bridge work habits,        relationship skills, discipline and confidence essential for a strong 21st

 century workforce.

*Pursue additional funding to advance sustainable system and campus goals.
